Checklist for Manuscript Submission
To ensure a smooth and efficient editorial process, authors are encouraged to carefully follow the guidelines outlined below when preparing their manuscripts for submission to the Journal of Food Innovations, Nutrition, and Environmental Sciences (JFINES). Adhering to these guidelines will significantly reduce the time required for editorial processing and help achieve a quicker decision on your manuscript.
1.0 Manuscript Format

- File Format: Manuscripts should be submitted as a single Word document that includes all text, figures, and tables. PDFs are not accepted.
- Font and Size:
- Article Title: Times New Roman, size 14, bold.
- Section Titles: Times New Roman, size 12, bold.
- Main Text: Times New Roman, size 12.
- Line Spacing: Manuscripts must be double-spaced throughout, including references, tables, and figure legends.
- Margins: Use a 1-inch margin on all sides of each page.
- Language: All manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English. Authors who are not native English speakers are strongly encouraged to have their manuscripts reviewed by a professional language editor. This will help avoid delays in the editorial process and improve the overall quality of the manuscript.
2.0 Manuscript Structure
The manuscript should be structured in the following order:
- Title Page:
- Include the full title of the manuscript.
- List all authors with their full names and affiliations.
- Clearly identify the corresponding author, including their full contact details (phone, fax, and email).
- Abstract:
- Provide a concise summary of the manuscript in no more than 250 words.
- Immediately follow the abstract with 4–6 keywords that accurately represent the content of the manuscript.
- Main Text: The manuscript body should be organized as follows:
- Introduction: Provide a brief overview of the research topic, including a review of relevant literature. Clearly state the significance and objectives of the research.
- Materials and Methods: Describe the experimental procedures in sufficient detail to allow replication by other researchers. If standard methods were used, provide a citation; for any modifications, include a detailed description. Ensure that ethical clearance is mentioned if applicable.
- Results and Discussion: Present your findings with appropriate statistical analysis. Discuss the implications of your results in the context of existing literature, highlighting any novel insights or significant deviations from previous research.
- Conclusion: Summarize the key findings and their relevance to the field. Discuss how the results contribute to the existing body of knowledge and suggest potential future research directions.
- Acknowledgements: Acknowledge any financial support, technical assistance, or other contributions that do not warrant authorship. Ensure that all individuals named in this section have provided written consent.
- Conflicts of Interest: Declare any potential conflicts of interest, whether financial, academic, commercial, political, or personal. If no conflicts exist, include a statement to that effect.
3.0 Figures and Tables
- Placement: Embed all figures and tables within the main text at appropriate locations, ensuring they are mentioned in the text.
- Quality: Figures should be of high resolution and easily interpretable. Each figure and table must have a clear, descriptive caption.
4.0 Referencing and Citation
- Reference Style: JFINES follows the latest APA referencing style. All in-text citations and the reference list should conform to this style.

- Multiple Authors: (Jiménez et al., 2000).

5.0 Ethical Considerations
- Plagiarism: JFINES has a strict plagiarism policy. Ensure that all submitted work is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere. Proper citation of sources is required to avoid plagiarism.
- Ethical Approval: For studies involving human or animal subjects, include a statement confirming that ethical approval was obtained from the appropriate review board or ethics committee.
